Master Guide: The Expert, The Advisor, The Promoter for Adventurers and Pathfinders

The Master Guide Program is at the highest level of Adventist Youth Ministries. It is one of the leadership programs that the General Confe
rence Youth Ministries Department uses to train people for youth leadership.

It is the "Ph.D." of youth ministry in the field and cannot be earned without taking at least one Basic Staff Training (BST) course.

As such, Master Guide is NOT a Pathfinder program, it is a Youth Ministry Leadership Program.
Master Guide Curriculum

The curriculum is designed for youth and adults, ages 16 and older and it prepares the participant for leadership roles with the Adventurer, Pathfinder, and Youth Ministries. It focuses on the individual's personal spiritual life and growth first and foremost and then general leadership skills are interwoven into the programme. These skills are specifically geared to leading youth in God-ordained areas of development:

  • Service to others; and
  • A life-style that denotes healthy living
The emphasis is on in-service training and active involement in learning new skills and developing methods for successful leadership.
